FSO

FSO (Fabryka Samochodów Osobowych) is a Polish automotive brand founded in 1948 in Warsaw. Its first model was the Warszawa, produced under Soviet licence. In the 1960s and 1970s FSO produced the popular Fiat 125p and, from 1978, its own model, the Polonez. The brand played a key role in the development of Polish motoring, offering cars accessible to a wide range of citizens. After 1989, FSO cooperated with Daewoo and General Motors, among others. Production ended in 2011, but FSO remains a symbol of the Polish automotive industry and the automotive heritage of the communist Poland.
